Revelations – Part 1
Posted by VidsApr 5
Been a long time since I blogged. Wow I donno how many entries of mine start with this line!! :P
Well… My life is certainly a mess right now. Especially my career. I deviated into the area of my choice and still ended up with a job that sucks! LOL!! How in the world did I manage to do that???
My job sucks. Really.
Is it too hard to find the right job? Or atleast something that’s just not vaguely related to the field I want? Am I asking for too much here?
I send my resume to every part of the country and still do not get a single reply from anyone. I am tired, fed up and unhappy all the time.
I don’t think that I have been this unhappy for this long ever! Been five months of toil now and I feel as unsure of this job as I was on the day I joined.
Post graduation is another option for me. But I don’t know what I wanna post-graduate in, so I am giving myself some time to figure that out before making wrong choices.
I just wonder how much longer I have to put up with this before I flip out completely or get a good job! I mean, I spoke angrily to my manager the other day. Maybe I’ll get fired before I flip out! LOL!!!

Hey hey. Don’t worry. If you are really after what you desire then you will achieve it. BTW what kind of a position/job are you looking forward to? And following your passion is always bound to succeed, the only problem being – you never know when. So don’t give up yet, strategize and then shoot for what you dream for.

But when you know that lots of things can be done, and when whatever you do results in failure, and because of that you feel like you’re not trying enough, and still cannot figure out what exactly has to be done, won’t you be unhappy?
I haven’t given up yet, though, at times I feel that I should!

1) Happiness is a decision :-)
2) You would know if you are trying hard enough or not. I believe it is objective, not a vague feeling. So if you know that you are trying hard enough then you can decide to not worry.
3) There is no point in worrying – http://www.thondomraughts.com/2007/11/there-is-no-point-in-worrying.html
4) If you are confident you will succeed. Again confidence is a decision :-)

Well, this is my first attempt at job hunting, so I’m thinking that I may understand things well with some more experience!!!! :D

Be positive! The ‘verdict’ will always be in favour of you, sis!
Besides, I’m praying. :D

Sometimes people say it’s only a job just do it and when you are done forget about it and go have a life and have fun.
Anyways, I think, making your resume into a one-page-resume may make a difference; you can add a cover letter (if you want, personally I never did) seperately, also, one page.
You maybe confused as to what to avoid in the resume. I know it’s hard; depending on the objective (the job you seek) you can put in what is related to that position and not include a lot of other crap. I wonder if I could have a look at your resume; I will cut it up and make it smaller.

@Hari – I know u’ll be praying, bro! :P
@JayGopalan – The problem is not with my resume and I’m sure about that. My company deals also with recruiting, so I’ve seen about 500 unimpressive resumes and a few impressive ones, till now!
Everybody needs experienced people, and my job, teaching, doesn’t even count as experience in this field. I’m scared to leave my job and go again looking for a better job. I’m not even sure whether my resume has reached any database from inboxes yet!

What kind of position are you looking for? Would you have anything to do with applying creative skills on the web?
